Crossing the 49th Parallel into Canada |
We took a second Red Bus Tour to Waterton National Park. This is the Canadian end of Glacier also called the International Peace Park. The Prince of Wales Hotel is truly dramatic standing high on a hill overlooking a beautiful lake.
Our Guide for this trip was Jo, a woman born and raised not far from Glacier in Montana. It was great having a native's view of the area. Jo had married a man who was a member of the Blackfeet tribe so she was able to present us with a different viewpoint. The Blackfeet's reservation included Glacier until the government forced them to sell it to them for the creation of GNP. Jo gave us interesting tales from the Blackfeet tribe.
Today we start our exploration of
Yellowstone. We are going to stay in the park so we will not have access wireless again. We will continue our adventure blog soon.
